JIRA test management with Xray
Regardless of how projects are organized, transparency is one OF THE success factors!
Knowing which tasks my teammates are working on and what they are struggling with not only promotes cohesion, but also enables short feedback cycles within the team.
Test activities are, of course, visualized on every physical task board and are an important part of the entire project.
All the more astonishing that when using electronic tools (test management tools), the test tasks no longer find their way (or via detours) to the daily standup or status session.
This reduces transparency enormously and often has a negative impact on teamwork.
There is potential here to promote, which is why, as an Atlassian Solution Partner, we are constantly looking for the best solutions, how to better integrate all testing competencies in the team and combine all tasks and assets with JIRA.
Out of the box, test management is not fully supported by JIRA. Here, the huge Atlassian marketplace with its numerous add-ons offers optimal support and various additional options.
But which is the right test management addon?
We scoured the entire marketplace, talked to manufacturers at the Atlassian Summit and took a close look at a selection of addons. This resulted, among other things, in a partnership with Xpand-it the manufacturer of the test management add-on Xray.
Xray increases transparency and flexibility in test management with JIRA in an elegant and simple way.
The desired test objects can be created, managed, grouped and executed very easily.
Xray also brings the “folder structure” to JIRA! Test cases will therefore be even easier and more intuitive to manage.
Our accumulated experience with JIRA and Xray has shown us that the interaction of JIRA and its add-ons is often decisive. We therefore recommend that you open your perspective and consider various other JIRA addons in the event of an evaluation.
We are pleased that on this year's Swiss Testing Day, the Xray Addon will be presented to a larger community with a presentation from SBB.
